When to seek INTERPOL advice
A client may learn of an international alert through a border encounter, an immigration or banking question, information from counsel, or a change in the underlying Russian case. In other matters, no notice has been confirmed, but the procedural history creates a reasonable concern about travel, detention or the exchange of personal data.
Early review can clarify what is known, what remains an assumption and which steps must be coordinated. An INTERPOL request should not be treated in isolation from the arrest decision, accusation, commercial or family dispute, and judicial record on which the data may be based.
INTERPOL notices and CCF requests
I advise on Red, Blue, Yellow and Silver Notices, diffusions and requests to the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files (CCF). Depending on the facts, the work may include:
- Requests for access to personal data processed through INTERPOL.
- Requests for correction or deletion of data.
- Analysis of the Russian criminal proceedings and supporting documents.
- Assessment of new facts that may support revision of an earlier CCF decision.
- Coordination with extradition, immigration, family-law or asset counsel.
For a detailed explanation of each notice and the limits of CCF disclosure, see the INTERPOL notices and CCF requests guide.
United States
Clients and legal teams in the US
I assist US-based clients and US legal teams where a Russian criminal case may have generated INTERPOL data or may affect an extradition, immigration, travel or asset-related assessment. The Russian record can be reviewed in English and organised for use by counsel handling the relevant US proceedings.
I do not advise on US law. Questions concerning arrest, immigration status, court procedure or local remedies remain for appropriately qualified US counsel.
Cyprus
Clients and legal teams in Cyprus
Cyprus-related matters may require a coordinated review of the INTERPOL record, the Russian accusation and parallel proceedings concerning extradition, residence, companies or assets. The work focuses on the Russian criminal-law evidence and the submission made to the CCF, while Cypriot counsel addresses the legal consequences and remedies available locally.
United Arab Emirates
Clients and legal teams in the UAE
For clients in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and elsewhere in the UAE, an INTERPOL concern may require prompt coordination before travel or while a local procedure is already under way. The initial review identifies the alert or suspected data, the Russian procedural basis and the documents needed for a CCF request.
Any advice on UAE detention, extradition, immigration, banking or property measures must be provided by counsel qualified in the relevant Emirate and field.
One factual record across jurisdictions
A CCF application, an extradition response and a local immigration or asset strategy may involve the same events but apply different legal tests. The objective is a consistent, documented chronology that distinguishes established facts from allegations and gives each legal team the material relevant to its forum.
Related work includes extradition defence, Russian criminal-law expert evidence and cross-border criminal advice.
The first review
In the first message, identify the countries involved, the type of notice or concern, your known procedural status and the nearest deadline. If an arrest decision, CCF letter or court order is available, mention it without sending sensitive documents before conflicts and scope have been checked.
Once instructed, the review begins with a chronology and a targeted document list. The proposed work is then matched to the evidence, the immediate risk and the role of local counsel.
I am an independent practitioner based in Moscow. References to the United States, Cyprus and the United Arab Emirates describe the clients and legal teams with whom I can work; they do not indicate local offices or admission to practise local law. Services are subject to a conflict check and an agreed scope. General information only.
